Hi everybody..
I thought it will be cool to share my latest character with you.. and hear your critics/feedback.. This is "The Ocean King", I made the oulines in Flash and then I colored him in Photoshop. I might use him for my new portfolio.. I might animate him. :)

This is the flash
[swf width=550 height=550]http://martoon.proways.net/work/ocean_king/ocean_king.swf[/swf]

and the finished version

I like the design and drawing. I think once you bring him into Flash you can get some nice see through effects.

He Looks easy to animate, I'd say it's a winner go for it.

thanks matador,
he is already done in Flash.. so yeah I might animate him.. I made him in PS because I really wanted to see him in nice colors and depth.
I dont think there is easy character when you animate in the traditional way and even when you draw with just a mouse!.. but its obviously working..although its a little difficult..

Nice character mar4o!
Would be good to see a bunch of different poses and expressions, this would work out before you start animating.
You should try and get a similar style from Flash, I reckon with some experimenting you could get something similar.
I think this drawing style lends itself to a drawn style of animation rather than a cut-out one.
Looking forward to seeing more!

Nice character!
I like the drawing style.

You should slow down the motion a little. That whipping tail is making him look sperm like... haha
Besides, he is a big guy, he looks like he should be a slow mover and kinda lethargic.

Don't you mean Mutated Sperm?

I like the character... I also like how he swims. I never once saw "Sperm" becuase I don't have a sick mind.... well maybe I do but not this illustration.

I do like the subtle movement in the head to give it that bounce look.... great job.

I like the movement, I might slow it down just a tad bit on the bottom there but that would be because of my own taste not because yours is not right or not good.

Once you add a background ocean, with fish and all that goes under the ocean this is going to come together nicely.

Hopefully, you will make him transparent with a little glow, again my taste;)

I SO promise it wasn't meant to be harsh at all. Only an observation and I wish I'd offered a suggestion like yours. My bad.

Cool animation test,
I would probably slow the bobbing about 2 or 3 times, and make the tail animation about twice as long.
At the moment it looks a bit too rushed.

Like others have said, nice bob on the head :D

Keep going!

I definately agree. Animation in water should be almost too slow. But I do like it a lot. Maybe for your next test, throw in some arm movement. Maybe take into consideration balance in the water (i.e. using his arms to maintain upright posture).

thanks a lot guys!:)
I just came back from vacation in Turkey (Marmaris) I had a great time there.. :)
and..... I just saw your comments on my work. I`m very thankfull and I agree with all you guys.. in fact at first the animation was a lot faster.. I slow it down... like 3-4 times.. by adding frames and inbetweens..I wasnt happy with the final result but I was in a hurry because I made it just a couple of days before I left home for the vacation.. I`m not very happy with the 2nd pose also as long as it has some minor errors on the body volume..but as I told you guys .. I was in a hurry..so I decided to post it anyway before I leave..
I will be working more on this praticuler character..so looking forward for more updates and I`ll be happy if I get your feedbacks again.
THanks a lot!:) :)
